Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant in the Chicago, Illinois, 60602, United States. The role mainly involves supporting litigation processes in areas such as Plaintiff Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, and Product Liability. The workplace consists of a team of attorneys, legal assistants, and law clerks, where you will be expected to manage your tasks independently.Responsibilities: Facilitate the smooth running of litigation processes by scheduling depositions, filing motions, and issuing subpoenas Handle client relations and communication efficiently Manage the calendar of the attorney you are supporting to ensure all appointments and deadlines are met Order and analyze medical records as required for cases Utilize Adobe Acrobat and Case Management Software for efficient work output Take charge of claim administration and billing functions Respond to discovery requests in a timely and accurate manner Leverage your skills in Personal Injury Litigation and Medical Record Abstraction Proactively manage your desk and ensure all tasks are completed without needing much direction Thrive in a high-pressure environment and handle a busy caseload effectively. Requirements Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is required for effective document handling and management. Familiarity with Case Management Software to efficiently manage and track legal cases. Ability to perform Billing Functions, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. Proficiency in Calendar Management, ensuring all appointments and deadlines are accurately tracked. Experience in Claim Administration, managing all aspects of insurance claims. Demonstrated ability in Client Relations, maintaining and enhancing client relationships. Strong Communication skills to ensure clear and effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Knowledge of Personal Injury Litigation, being able to handle such cases effectively. Experience in Medical Record Abstraction, extracting essential information from complex medical records. Proficiency in Medical Records Analysis, interpreting and extracting key data from medical records.
