Description:JOB ANNOUNCEMENTFINANCIAL ANALYSTDEPARTMENT OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENTBureau of FinanceNumber of Positions: 2Starting Salary: $67,656.00The Department of Planning and Development (DPD) is seeking a Financial Analyst who under general supervision, prepares financial plans and budgets, tracks program performance, analyzes program operations, manages program finances, report program outcomes, and performs related duties as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES· Financial Planning and Budgetingo Researches current and historical revenues and expenditures, identifies trends, and prepares fiscal projectionso Coordinates with program heads to plan, program, and track resource needs and gaps over multiple yearso Assists in preparing operating, capital, and grant budget requests and helps manage the annual budget process· Financial Management & Reportingo Sets up and/or modifies funds, accounts, and budgets in the City’s financial systemo Tracks program revenues and expenditureso Monitors and reconciles accounts across multiple systems and ledgerso Costs and reconciles program payrollo Assists with the annual single audit process and HUD program audits, coordinates corrective action plans and audit responses, and conducts site visits as neededo Prepares and reports both financial and program performance status internally and externally in federal systems· Management Analysiso Coordinates with program heads to identify and track program metrics (inputs, outputs, outcomes) to measure return on investmento Conducts cost/benefit analyses of current and proposed programs and operations, and recommends changes to improve cost efficiencieso Elicits, maps, and evaluates business requirements and processesAdditional duties may be required for this positionLocation: City Hall, 10 th FloorDays: Monday – FridayHours: 8:30am – 4:30pmTHIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICEQualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a directly related field, plus one year of work experience in the analysis of financial records.SELECTION REQUIREMENTSThis position requires applicants to complete an interview.
