Looking for a Childcare Director for a new daycare/ learning center opening in Portage Park this Summer. All applicants MUST have 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.

Core responsibilities of a Child Care Director include the following:

Follow the Daily Safety Plan: Child Care Directors must arrive at work 30 minutes before opening of the site to ensure the safety of all staff and families upon entry. The director must follow the daily safety plan and list of duties

Oversee Staff: Directors must manage all staff, which includes creating the schedule of all employees. The director must also interview, hire, and train employees. The childcare director is the lead of all teachers and assistants.

Develop a curriculum and program: Child Care Directors work closely with the center’s teachers and staff, creating learning plans or programs to meet state and federal requirements and parents’ expectations.

Create a budget: Child Care Directors must manage the facility finances for classroom materials, equipment, office supplies, monthly utility bills, food, and exterminator services each month.

Collect tuition from families: The Child Care Director must ensure that each family pays tuition for child care services on time each month. The director must maintain proper communication with families to ensure the fees are met.

Management of the facility: The Child Care Director must make sure that the facility is safe and well-stocked. That includes checking that safety equipment is available and working, removing hazards, and ensuring the facility is always clean and orderly. Child care directors must follow DCFS rules and regulations.

Market the Facility: The Child Care Director must have a marketing plan to promote awareness of the facility and its service and to address growing competition of other

daycare facilities

Organize Documents: The Child Care Director must organize all parent contact information, enrollment forms, medical forms, Allergy forms, and all other DCFS requirements.

Employee Records: The Child Care Director is in charge of organizing each employee’s file with all required documents:

Build Relationships with parents and staff: A Child Care Director will meet with parents and teachers to keep parents up-to-date on their child’s development and progress, including discussing ways to address any learning or behavioral issues.

Child Care Directors must all exhibit the following skills:

Business management

First aid

Excellent Communication Skills

Proficient in using Google Drive/Excel/Microsoft Word

Good Crisis Management

Leaderships Skills

Classroom Experience
