Pipe layer performs a variety of manual labor duties, utilizing various hand and power tools to complete task in support of residential and commercial.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES – INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO

● Duties:
- Operate various hand and power tools, clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support sides of excavation.
- Install pipe in the trenches.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
- Locate underground utilities and eliminate potential hazards.
- Perform material handling and storage.
- Ensure the proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Operate construction equipment.
- Handle physically demanding construction duties.
- Assist crew members in placing underground pipes, conduits, manual labor, and shovel work.
- Operate power tools.
- Clean up rubble, debris, and remove waste materials.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of water and sewer operations preferred
- 1-3 years of experience
- Knowledge of all tasks required for area of work assigned.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Skill in the use and operation of hand and power tools such as pipe cutters, chain saws, jack hammers, and other equipment applicable to assignments
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time and during unfavorable weather conditions.
- Ability to understand, follow, and issue oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read maps, blueprints, and sketches.
- Ability to work with the public.

Work Conditions
- Work outside in all types of weather.
- May be exposed to constant noise, fumes, dust, dirt, vapors, odors, etc.
- Will work in trenches/ditches, manholes, and around mechanical, electrical and explosive hazards.
- May be required to workdays, nights, and/or weekends
