Summary:Idaho Correctional Industries is currently recruiting for a Job Training Specialist to work at the Idaho State Correctional Institution in Boise. Idaho. The ICI Training Specialist oversees training and operations in assigned programs. Typical responsibilities include; supervising residents of the delivery and install of cabinets and furniture in public spaces. Training will include using a variety of hand and power tools as well as the latest technology available in the industry. A willingness to train individuals in the basics of material yield, time management, quality assurance and inventory awareness.Responsibilities:

Daily time balancing

Perform quality control and quality assurance inspections

Issue material in Global Shop ERP system

Create purchase requisitions and material movement requests for raw material and finished goods

Maintain tool control and key control per IDOC policy - security

Maintain accurate inventory – runs reports and performs physical counts

Perform the offender training

Log all training in the training program

Complete trainee evaluation forms

Follow APS requirements

Equipment maintenance and operational knowledge/experience

Maintain Institutional control per IDOC policy – security

Produce products from Proofs (PDF etc)

Interview, add or remove residents from the training program

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree or Vocational Training Certification or equivalent experience in the specialty area. Typically gained by possessing an Associate's Degree or Vocational Training Certification or experience equivalent to a specific specialty area such as license plate manufacturing or digital printing.

Good knowledge of computers including use of MS Word, Excel, & Outlook. Typically gained be having used MS Word, Excel and Outlook in a professional business environment in which I was able to edit and manipulate data.

Experience training or supervising others in a production environment, that includes training others to develop and enhance job skills. Typically gained by completion of a class or seminar (of more than 1 day) specifically covering supervisory practices; OR completion of a college course covering supervisory practices; OR leadwork experience that involved work assignment, direction, and monitoring of staff (such experience on a fill-in basis is non-qualifying unless for a minimum of 3 months).

Experience using tools and equipment specific to the assigned shops. Typically gained by completion of formal training, such as in a vocational technical school OR at least two years of experience performing skilled.

Willingness to work in a correctional facility.

Specialty Qualification:

Must have or obtain a CDL license within a year of being hired.
