Structural Engineer EIT/PE (Statewide)

HMH Engineering is a well-established Civil Engineering firm with office locations throughout Idaho. Due to our continued growth and expanding client base, our office in Meridian, ID is seeking to hire a full-time Structural Engineer EIT or PE to join our Team. Other HMH office locations will also be considered. This position offers the opportunity for a broad range of engineering and project management responsibilities providing support to their assigned Partners, Project Managers, and their respective industry groups. This position requires outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, a strong desire to work in the civil design industry, attention to detail, and the ability to organize and support multiple project functions.

Position Responsibilities:

Prepare and review design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings and technical specifications.

Perform engineering activities throughout all phases of a project lifecycle, including inspection, investigation, evaluation, analysis, design, and engineering services during construction.

Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel.

Work as a team member within HMH Engineering and across other offices to effectively balance workload among available resources.

Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Position Qualifications:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with Structural emphasis

EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and structural analysis software such RISA and Enercalc.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and possess analytical and organizational skills to support multiple projects at one time.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate work with other disciplines and CAD/BIM designers either in person or virtually.

Additional skills such as attention to accuracy, detail orientated, self-directed learning, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking are required.

Previous structural design experience (internship or full-time work experience) is a plus

Demonstrated knowledge of how software packages related to structural engineering work

The willingness to try new things and be forward thinking, innovative.

Familiarity with CADD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
