IMMEDIATE OPENING for a MAUI-BASED Site Operations Foreman MAUI-BASED APPLICANTS PREFERRED.
Vares Contracting, Inc. is seeking a SITE OPERATIONS FOREMAN, responsible for the daily supervision of a 5-man excavation and land-clearing crew. Must be able to comprehend and execute project plans, and organize and direct the crew's daily tasks. Candidate should have extensive experience operating heavy equipment to properly oversee and evaluate excavation and equipment work, including experience on excavators and compact track loaders. Foreman must also have experience in site prep, civil engineering, and utilities projects, including water main line, septic system, and water meter installation and repair; and demolition and debris removal services, facilities maintenance and repair.The ideal candidate has a CDL Class A license, but not required.
Site Operations Foreman reports to and works at the job site daily, and will communicate with the company president and the general manager to ensure daily progress is achieved.
Work will include current projects at the standard rate of $55/hr and opportunities for some projects at Hawaii's Prevailing Wage rate for an Operating Foreman.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and successfully execute project plan for excavation and land clearing projects, including but not limited to: land clearing services using excavator-and-compact track-loader-mounted mastication and forest mulching attachments; site prep, civil engineering, and utilities projects, including water main line, septic system, and water meter installation and repair; and demolition and debris removal services, facilities maintenance and repair.
- Oversee, evaluate, and effectively communicate with crew and with the General Manager.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Valid Hawaii driver's license, commercial CDL with appropriate endorsements, preferred
- Ability to expertly operate heavy equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
