Position: Production Assistant (Part/Full Time)

Dept: Production

Location: Kula, HI

Reports to: Production Operations Manager, Extraction Manager, &/or Cultivation Manager (activity dependent)

Travel required (% of time): 0%

Overview of Position:

The Production Assistant is a flexible multifunctional position that requires work across production areas including Cultivation, Processing, Packaging, and Extraction. The successful candidate will possess a keen attention to detail and record keeping, and a willingness to continually learn more about the subject. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with the Company from the ground up, and to take on increasing levels of responsibility over time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Production Assistant may include anything from general cultivation work, IPM, processing activities, product packaging, and/or extraction and formulation. Some examples of duties may include:

Assists in harvesting, processing, and packaging finished medicine

Keeps accurate records on each plant using Company system and protocols

Records and tracks accurate weights and measurements of products throughout the processing and packaging procedures using company systems and protocols

Maintains a clean, safe environment inside the processing area

Inspects the cannabis for defects using a variety of magnification tools

Calibrates, operates, cleans, and stores packaging equipment including heat sealers, etc.

Prints and applies labels to finished product; stores and inventories finished product according to Company policy and as directed by the Production Operations Manager

Implements daily feeding & care schedule as directed by the Cultivation Manager

Conducts routine visual inspection of plants to ensure early identification and correction of nutrient deficiencies or pest problems and reports findings to the Director of Production

Spray plants or performs other IPM-related tasks as assigned by the Cultivation Manager

Organizing batches of inventory designated for extraction

Bucking and milling biomass in preparation for extraction

Packing & evacuating CO2E vessels

Executing service cycles and other routine extraction system maintenance protocols

Regularly cleaning and organizing the CO2E room to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and equipment operating conditions are maintained

Packing micron bags with biomass designated for CME

Ensuring stocks of anhydrous ethanol, glassware and other materials required to sustain uninterrupted secondary processing operations are consistently maintained

Regularly cleaning and servicing the rotary evaporators, vacuum distillation systems and other equipment systems used for secondary processing

Regularly cleaning and organizing laboratory glassware, stainless steel product handling implements, and other laboratory equipment

Regularly sweeping and mopping the secondary processing and final product formulation laboratories

Preparing batches of medical cannabis-infused edible products

Other duties may be assigned by the relevant manager.

Qualifications:

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to apply

Must be a Maui, Hawaii State Resident

Must pass a drug test and criminal background check per Hawai'i Department of Heath

Education - High school diploma or equivalent

Work Experience Required - Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges

Prior laboratory or manufacturing experience preferred

Experience working in the context of a regulated industry subject to strict compliance and security requirements an advantage

Required Knowledge - Working knowledge of basic computer & office equipment operations (inventory systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)

Basic math required for inventory, projections, measurements

Skills and Abilities:

- Skilled at using computers

- Mechanical skill

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

- Extended periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching

- Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds repetitively, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, and carry items for a distance of 100 feet

- Must be able to wear company provided PPE such as face masks, gloves, lab coats, during handling of medicinal products

- Close visual focus required

- This position occasionally requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects
