Located in the remote district of Hana on the island of Maui, Hana Fresh is a 7 acre certified organic farm with an additional 30-acre parcel under development. The farm produces fresh market vegetables and fruits for distribution through the Hana Fresh farm stand and meal programs as well as retail outlets and restaurants.
The Farm Manager oversees and participates in the development and coordination of both field and greenhouse operations and assures facilities, irrigation and equipment are appropriately maintained. Responsible for managing inventory and the organic certification process. Coaches and trains farm labor from diverse backgrounds and differing skill sets in completion of daily tasks including seeding, planting, weeding, harvesting, washing, packing, and record keeping. Must be “production oriented” and a willing participant in all farming activities.
Requirements: Agriculture Degree and experience farming in sub-tropical climate preferred. At least three years of experience working in organic farming systems and supervising staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to live in a very remote rural area with limited resources.
