At Ahualoa Family Farms, we’re NUTS about growing and producing the very best 100% Hawaiian grown macadamia nuts & 100% Hamakua coffee. Everything we make is super fresh, made in small batches, and always the highest quality.
To succeed in this role, you must have a desire to become a macadamia nut and coffee expert, with a thorough understanding of their processes and the products we create. Don’t worry, we’ll train you! You must also enjoy working independently, and have fun interacting with people, while making sales.
We are Honokaa-based, with farmers markets in Waimea, Waikoloa, and more.
Farmers Market Responsibilities:
● Represent AFF and create an enjoyable experience for customers
● Driving our van to and from the market
● Set-up and tear down of booth/display
● Customer interaction/sales, handling credit card/cash transactions
● Reserve market / event space when needed
● Complete applications for markets / events, track market success
● Offer samples
● Maintain market displays
● Other duties and projects as assigned
Job Skills and Qualifications:
● Functioning and reliable personal phone for communication and POS application.
● Ability to learn and effectively communicate our company mission and values to customers
● Ability to develop and effectively communicate product knowledge to customers
● Dependability - must have reliable transportation and consistent presence at the assigned market(s)
● Valid driver license to drive company vehicle
● General math skills - must be able to perform basic arithmetic using a calculator
● Ability to ring up sales and make change using our point-of-sale register and software (Square)
● Strong verbal communication skills, speaking in clear and understandable English
● Ability to lift up to 50lb
● Ability to stand for long periods of time, although a chair may be used
● Positive, can-do attitude
● Prior Customer service and sales experience is a plus, but not required
