Summary:
Carry out the mission of Kealahou West Oahu and implements the Policies of the agency. Assists and aids the homeless participants in the Shelter Program by performing the following duties. Consistently exercises discretion and maintains a professional objective to the agency's operations and its advocacy for the benefits of the participants served.
Operation: Duties to include but not limited to:
Assists in the enforcement of House Rules, Policy and Procedures and cleanliness of facility
Ensures events that occur on shift are appropriate, documented and reported
Conducts Unit Inspections and Facility Inspections to ensure facility is in proper maintenance
Conducts repairs and maintenance to facility upon findings from results of Unit Inspections and work orders submitted
Provide daily support for Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Safety Programs
Mediate and defuse situations that will affect the well-being and safety of the member(s) involved and all persons on property
Assist in providing daily supervision of participants, volunteers and visitors on property
Maintain daily Operational Logs
Perform janitorial duties to ensure the environment is clean, sanitary and free of safety and health hazards
Prepares classrooms and conference rooms for instruction classes, trainings and meetings
Knowledgeable to the basic duties of each position within the agency
Attends meetings as directed by the Department Coordinator and/or Executive Director
Prepare and provide reports as directed by the Department Coordinator and/or Executive Director
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma and one year experience working in Building Maintenance field
Minimum skills in building maintenance, grounds maintenance and landscaping
Ability to operate office equipment, hardware tools and landscaping equipment
Ability to work with minimum supervision and be in a supervisory position
Mediate and demonstrate conflict resolution skills
Demonstrate Time Management skills
Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to follow instructions, perform tasked assigned, adjust work pace to accommodate work load, lift 45lbs. and walk at length in addition to climbing stairs repeatedly
Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups, clients and general public
Ability to be aware of participants' history and current activity while maintaining confidentiality
Effective and efficient skills utilizing word documents, spreadsheets and e-mail
Must have current TB clearance
Must have a valid Drivers License and have access to a vehicle to carry out job duties and maintain an excellent driving abstract for insurance purposes
Must have a flexible work schedule
