Now Hiring: Director of Operations (Aka: Chaos Coordinator, Team Builder, Mission Driver)
Full-Time | Based on Maui | Reports to the COO
Let’s be real — if you're looking for a slow-paced office job, this isn’t it.
With six Clubhouses (and more on the horizon), youth programs running full speed, and a passionate team to guide — we need someone who thrives in motion.
We’re Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui, and we’re searching for a Director of Operations who leads with purpose, listens deeply, solves creatively, and believes that every young person deserves a safe space and a bright future.
What You'll Actually Be Doing (besides putting out fires and making magic happen):
Overseeing the operations of all our Clubhouses across Maui — each with its own rhythm, team, and energy.
Supporting Club Directors and program leads like the steady, supportive rock you are.
Managing budgets like a boss. (We’re a nonprofit. Every dollar matters.)
Making sure every Clubhouse has what it needs — from staff to supplies to snack tables that don’t wobble.
Coordinating maintenance and facilities needs without missing a beat.
Keeping the big picture in view while managing the small stuff that makes it all work.
Rolling out organization-wide staff trainings that are actually useful (and not just slides with bullet points).
Building partnerships and relationships that strengthen our community and expand our reach.
Spotting problems before they turn into emergencies, and handling the ones that do with grace and grit.
Who You Are:
Part coach, part strategist, part logistics ninja.
A people person who also loves systems (yes, it’s possible).
Comfortable making decisions but smart enough to ask questions first.
Known for staying calm in chaos, lifting others up, and getting things done.
You’re big on accountability — for yourself and others — but you’re also big on kindness.
You see leadership as service and operations as the foundation of impact.
What You Need:
A bachelor’s degree is great. A solid track record of operations leadership is even better.
5+ years of experience managing programs, people, and/or multi-site operations — nonprofit experience a plus.
Experience supervising and growing teams. You know how to support without micromanaging.
Budget management skills — and the receipts to prove it.
Strong communication chops (writing, talking, presenting — all of it).
Valid driver’s license. You’ll be on the move across Maui.
A heart for youth and a head for strategy.
What You’ll Love:
A mission that matters.
A team that works hard, laughs loud, and has your back.
A leadership role that blends purpose with action.
The chance to shape programs, grow leaders, and build something meaningful — every day.

We're not just hiring a Director of Operations. We're hiring someone who wants to build something bigger than themselves — and have a little fun along the way.
