Affordable Locksmith Hawaii is a lock, door, and security hardware services company servicing Hawaii’s security needs since 1991. Locally owned and operated, we service a wide variety of customers in the residential, commercial, retail, healthcare, office, hotel, facilities, and government industries. We are seeking Locksmith Technicians based on Oahu (Honolulu, Hawaii) to service residential and commercial doors and locks. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Unlock automotive, residential, and commercial doors

Rekey (change key) a wide variety of residential and commercial grade locks

Establish and maintain master key systems

Install and service high security key systems

Originate lost keys, cut/duplicate keys

Install and repair deadbolts, doorknobs, lever handles, padlocks, locks on cabinets, desks and gates, panic bars, latches, door closers, door hinges, combination locks, locking controls, and other lock and door related hardware

Service electrical locks and access controls such as, door strikes, mag locks, and electrified hardware

Troubleshoot issues on location and through pictures, text, talk, and email

Determine tools, hardware, and equipment needs

Drive to and from multiple job sites, suppliers, and vendor offices within reasonable amount of time during work shift

Process work orders, estimates, sales, and materials/parts information using a computer and mobile phone (apps) and other electronic devices

Assist with coordinating logistics with staff, construction project managers, customers, other trades, safety personnel, vendors, and suppliers

Clean and maintain work vehicles, storage, inventory, and workstations

Provide excellent customer service

Physical Conditions:

Lift and carry objects of varying weights, with and/or without assistance and/or reasonable accommodation

Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and lifting

Climb and stand on stairs, ladders, sometimes for extended periods of time

Exposure to working in restricted/small spaces physically close to others, such as within several feet

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling of materials, tools, equipment, etc.

Exposure to dust, fumes, paint, varnish, drywall, caulk, and other sealants and finishes

Work with hands and tools for extended periods of time in uncovered/unshaded areas/non air conditioned (A/C) environments

Exposure to continuous drilling, scraping, tapping, sawing, and other various construction-type noises

Work Schedule:

24 to 40+ hours per week

Assignment to an evening and weekend work shift on a rotating basis

Emergency work, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

Ability to perform the essential duties of the position under the physical conditions and work schedule as described above

Valid driver's license and related documents for employment authorization in the United States

Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery needed to complete duties

Ability to operate a vehicle (truck, van), machinery, and other equipment for extended periods of time

Basic computer (email, search engine) and smart phone/mobile device skills

Read, write, speak and comprehend English language in a fast-paced environment

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and also ratios, percentages, and measurements

Ability to use a tape measure and other tools to take measurements

Willingness to work overtime and occasional travel to neighbor islands

Ability to take mechanical aptitude and mathematics tests

Must be able to clear a background check with drug and alcohol testing

Ability to obtain security clearance (airports, banks, military bases, government facilities)

Locksmith, handyman or general facilities maintenance experience is preferred, but not required

General construction/fabrication experience is a plus, but not required
