Farm in panaewa looking for a mature, trustworthy and dependable delivery driver to deliver and unload plants to our vendors. No CDL needed. Isuzu truck with 14' box. We also have a brand new truck with a lift gate coming in May which will help make deliveries easier.
Driver duties: Deliver to Kona 2-3 days per week. (Possible Tue if busy)-(Normally Wed-Thur.)
Deliver in Hilo on Fridays. Load and unload plants, stage plants according to vendors. When not driving, helping shipping with plant orders, packing and general farm help during slow shipping days.
Deliveries to Kona: Truck will be loaded and ready to go the day before. Driver needs to leave Hilo around 5:30 am if delivering on Tue and Wed. Truck needs to be back at reasonable time to prep and load for next day delivery. Shipping crew will have plants pulled and ready to be loaded as soon as truck comes back.
(Thursday) delivery can start later, 6:30-7am due to truck not needing to be loaded in afternoon. Hilo deliveries are on Friday so truck can be loaded friday morning.
Heavy lifting, bending, carrying is a requirement for this position. Working in rain and hot sun is a requirement.
Need to be a safe and courteous driver, have good customer service skills and be reliable, especially for kona delivery days.
Pay starts at $15hr, willing to negotiate for someone dependable and experienced. Full benefits, medical 401k ect
Our normal working hours are Monday-Friday 7am-330pm (exception for driver on delivery days) need to start earlier.
40 hrs per week, I am flexible to allow driver to leave early if they want, as long as truck and shipping is done. Example: if driving and leaving at 530am, you wont be expected to stay until 330pm unless needed. Overtime is very rare.
Learn the plants we grow, help with planting during slow periods, help pulling orders, deliver orders, that is basically it.
