Banana farm in Kea’au is looking for a banana bunch bagger. Applicants must be physically fit and able to carry a 14 foot orchard ladder while looking for banana bunches to be plucked and bagged. Position requires locating and identifying bunches for bagging. Once a bunch has been identified the ladder must be set up safely next to the bunch where the bagger will then approach the bunch and manually remove all flowers and leave a specified amount of hands left on the bunch. Bunch will then be covered with a bag and tied with a string. Baggers are also responsible for prepping their bags by tying tags on each bag that will be used for identifying the month/day they were bagged. Baggers are responsible or keeping an accurate count on the amount of bags placed each day as well as totaling all bags bagged for the week.
This is a piece work position and baggers are paid weekly by the amount of bunches bagged.
Applicants should be strong and physically fit and able to walk all day while carrying weight and looking up. Rain or shine, the job must be completed weekly. Must enjoy outdoor work in the elements!
