We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Roller/Prep to join our culinary team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in sushi preparation and a strong attention to detail (willing to train).
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with the freshest seafood available while contributing to the creation of delicious and visually stunning sushi dishes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sushi rolls, prepping fish, etc. according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of all seafood ingredients used in sushi preparation.
- Properly handle and store seafood to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
- Prepare and portion ingredients for sushi rolls, including rice, seaweed, vegetables, and proteins.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the sushi preparation area, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other sushi team members to coordinate prep/orders and ensure timely delivery/completion.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of seafood and compliance with hygiene practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Roller/Prep or similar role in a restaurant or sushi bar setting (willing to train the right candidate).
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including rolling, slicing, and portioning.
- Familiarity with different types of fish and seafood used in sushi rolls.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in sushi presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
