PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for preparing meal ingredients directed by the Hau Tree culinary leaders to execute signature, exceptional, and consistent dishes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cook a variety of high-quality menus ensuring food is prepared and served

Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency

Adhere to all checklists, prep sheets and par sheets as assigned

Assists with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients, and supplies

Ensure food is stored in appropriate containers, labeled, and rotated

Maintain standard of freshness, minimizing waste and maximizing quality

Collaborate with other kitchen members to ensure that all orders are prepared and served in a timely manner

Strive to advance your knowledge, skills and abilities

Practice proper grooming, personal hygiene, and uniform standards

Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts, ensuring kitchen is cleaned and sanitized at the end of every shift

Maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Basic ability of food prep, food handling, preparation, and cooking procedures

Positive attitude and a consistent display of professionalism

Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures, food handling and safe guidelines

Excellent communication skills

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Ability to work quickly and efficiently

Ability to work well with all members of Hau Tree

Ability to endure abundant of physical movements

Ability to take constructive feedback and leadership

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must have 1-2+ years of experience in a fine dining restaurant

Culinary education training a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen

Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks
