We’re looking for passionate, ocean-loving individuals to join our team as Snorkeling Guides across some of Maui’s most iconic beaches. This role involves leading guided snorkeling tours, teaching first-time snorkelers and swimmers, and ensuring a safe and unforgettable ocean experience for guests of all ages and backgrounds.
As a snorkeling guide, you’ll be the face of our beach operations—responsible for both safety and storytelling. From calm, sandy Wailea Beach to the dramatic lava rock reefs of Makena and the cultural richness of Lahaina, you'll be showcasing the marine beauty and spirit of aloha to every guest you meet.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Guided Snorkel Tours
Conduct daily group and private snorkeling excursions, with an emphasis on safety, marine education, and fun.
Teach First-Time Swimmers & Snorkelers
Provide personalized instruction on basic swimming and snorkeling techniques including equipment fitting, breathing, fin usage, water entry/exit, and floatation skills.
Ensure Guest Safety
Monitor water conditions, assess swimmer capabilities, and maintain awareness of marine hazards such as currents, waves, and wildlife.
Administer First Aid / Emergency Response
Be ready to respond to minor injuries and emergencies with first aid, CPR, and water rescue skills. Maintain emergency readiness at all times.
Provide Marine Education & Interpretation
Teach guests about local reef ecosystems, fish species, conservation practices, and cultural significance of the ocean in Hawaiian life.
Equipment Setup & Maintenance
Assist with preparing and cleaning snorkel gear (masks, fins, snorkels, floatation devices), and ensure it’s in top condition.
Customer Service & Hospitality
Greet guests warmly, answer questions, provide tips for snorkeling and marine etiquette, and ensure every tour feels personalized and welcoming.
Qualifications
Required:
CPR & First Aid Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent)
Strong Swimming Skills
Experience teaching beginners (swimming or snorkeling)
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, friendly, and safety-focused mindset
Preferred:
Lifeguard certification or ocean rescue experience
Knowledge of Hawaiian marine life and local oceanography
Previous tour guiding or customer-facing experience
Work Schedule & Conditions
Must be available for early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Comfortable working in sun exposure and water for extended periods
Some physical lifting of equipment (20-30 lbs) required
Guides will rotate between Wailea, Makena, and Lahaina locations
