We are seeking a FULL-TIME Accounting Clerk for our accounting office located in Honolulu, Hawaii.

JOB SUMMARY/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:

This position is to support the accounting department with clerical and administrative tasks. The position will also involve administrative duties such as filing, and others as assigned and as outlined below under Primary Responsibilities.

PAY RANGE: $21.00/Hour - $25.00/Hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Processing and inputting invoices into database with matching work orders to invoices.

2. Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable.

3. Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other departments.

4. Responsible and ethical when working with sensitive information, whether it’s information for the company or for individuals.

5. Process monthly owner billing.

6. Reconciliation of reservation folios.

7. Prepare monies for bank deposit, as needed.

8. Prepare payroll timesheets.

9. Receiving and recording client payments.

10. Assist with owner GET/TAT filing process.

11. Other administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook programs.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

3. Reliable, able to multi-task, and learn on the job.

4. Work effectively as a team and individually.

EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of office experience and/or customer service; accounting knowledge is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE:

Basic knowledge of accounting / office functions. Should be familiar with navigating around functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Complete or comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other team members within the organization.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel programs.
