Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician
Location: Wilmington Plantation, GA
Employment Type: 1099 Contractor (Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week)
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
Job Summary:
Wilmington Plantation is seeking a reliable and skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of essential building maintenance and repair tasks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in general facility upkeep and demonstrate strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform general facility maintenance and upkeep
Conduct minor carpentry repairs (walls, flooring, wood trim)
Painting interior and exterior surfaces as needed
Replace light bulbs and perform basic electrical maintenance
Perform minor plumbing repairs and adjustments
Clean and maintain swimming pool in accordance with safety standards
Provide custodial services in common areas, restrooms, and hallways
Conduct routine inspections of building systems (HVAC, fire suppression, back-up generator)
Remove debris and litter from property grounds
Keep all walkways and driveways clear and safe
Perform pressure washing of exterior surfaces
Coordinate and oversee work completed by contractors and service providers
Position Requirements:
Proven experience in facility maintenance and housekeeping
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
Ability to safely operate a variety of tools and equipment
Professional appearance and demeanor
Strong attention to detail and observational skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Valid Georgia driver’s license required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, or pull more than 50 pounds
Must use proper body mechanics and equipment for extended physical tasks
Frequent walking, bending, stooping, balancing, crawling, and reaching
Comfortable working at heights (ladders and mechanical lifts over 10 feet)
Must be able to access tight or confined spaces
Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying Georgia weather conditions
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience operating a mechanical lift (e.g., scissor lift or boom lift) is a plus
Willingness to learn lift operation and work safely at heights is strongly preferred
