Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and organized Kitchen Lead who will also serve as an Expo and Food Runner to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, expediting orders, and ensuring efficient delivery of food to guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Expo Duties:

Coordinate and prioritize food orders to ensure timely preparation and delivery.

Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to maintain smooth service flow.

Inspect plates for accuracy, presentation, and adherence to quality standards before they are served to guests.

Ensure all food items are properly garnished and accompanied by necessary condiments or sides.

2. Food Running:

Expedite food delivery from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring orders are delivered to the correct tables promptly.

Collaborate with servers to coordinate table assignments and manage guest expectations.

Maintain professionalism and efficiency during peak service hours to minimize wait times for guests.

3. Kitchen Leadership:

Lead by example and motivate kitchen staff to uphold high standards of food quality and service.

Provide guidance and training to kitchen team members, including cooks and prep staff.

Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.

Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.

4. Quality Control:

Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure consistency and adherence to recipe standards.

Address any issues or concerns related to food quality, presentation, or guest feedback promptly and professionally.

5. Team Collaboration:

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by promoting effective communication and teamwork.

Work closely with front-of-house staff to optimize service efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Collaborate with management to implement operational improvements and streamline processes.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a kitchen leadership role, with previous expo and food running experience preferred.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively during busy shifts.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and industry best practices.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
