Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant for our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This role will involve various responsibilities, including the review of payables, accruals, booking of journal entries, and maintaining the general ledger. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for bank reconciliations, cash receipts, and setting up new vendors. This is a contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Review payables and ensure all checks have signatures Book journal entries and understand accrual books Maintain the general ledger and perform general ledger activities Conduct daily bank reconciliations Post tenant receipts and perform basic cash activities Set up new vendors in the accounting system Conduct basic accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Assist in the month-end close process Provide ad hoc support to the team as neededRequirements Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role. Proficiency in use of financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Strong knowledge in areas such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries. Experience in Month End Close procedures. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
