Principal Scrum Master United States, Georgia, AtlantaTechOps23-Feb-2024Ref #: 22938How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)The Predictive Technology Engineering (PTE) group at Delta seeks an Agile Scrum Master (ASM) to join the software development and data engineering teams within the Engineering Analytics team. As an ASM, you would drive value by helping the development teams define work, prioritize work, and focus on delivery. You will serve as both a coach and an advisor for the teams demonstrating how to leverage Agile frameworks most effectively and, specifically, to increase speed to market, eliminate waste, and ultimately delight our business partners and customers. The broader PTE team employs data scientists, data engineers, optimization engineers, and analysts that are focused on advancing the decision-making ability of Delta’s Technical Operations through simulation, prediction, and analysis.The ASM plays a pivotal role guiding the Team to be more self-organizing and empowered. One of the key responsibilities of an ASM to the team is to remove the impediments that can hinder progress. The right candidate will build strong relationships with other teams and stakeholders, understand the products, support work definition, teach the teams, and effectively network their way to success. In addition, they will develop and collect meaningful metrics that reflect the teams’ progress and maturity. Responsibilities:

Have a pragmatic approach to Agile delivery – less theory, more experience

World-class communicator and relationship builder able to deliver difficult news, guide conversations around reprioritizations, and remove impediments

Ensure that project goals, scope, and product domain are clearly understood by the team

Coach Product Owners to maximize value within the backlog

Define work in collaboration with the team and product owners

Facilitate ceremonies that engage the team and generate valuable outputs

Collect the right data to develop meaningful metrics that accurately reflect the Team’s progress through the sprint and increment

Encourage and enable teams to develop cross-functionally

Remove impediments to each team’s progress.

Work with other ASMs to strengthen the Community of Practice

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

Prefer experience with an analytical or data science team

Prefer experience doing release planning and milestone planning (based on the velocity)

Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM)

3-5+ years recent dedicated Scrum Master experience

3+ years experience with Agile development processes, AWS, Confluence, JIRA, Gitlab

3+ years’ experience in an Information Technology / Software Development organization

Embraces diversity in people, thinking, and styles

Relevant education and work experience

Industry recognized certification in Scrum or Scaled Agile
