We are seeking Technician for our Molecular Genetics laboratory located in Atlanta, GA ! Work alongside highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity and respect for the patient.The schedule for this position will be: 2nd shift, Tuesday-Saturday 12:00pm-8:30pm with rotating Sundays biweekly.Technical Responsibilities:
Performs extraction of DNA/RNA from blood, buccal, saliva, muscle samples and cells with a high degree of quality and in accordance to established protocols.
Perform cell culture procedures on amniocytes and fibroblasts with a high degree of quality and in accordance to established protocols.
Maintain complete documentation.
Alert supervisor immediately to any concerns/questions regarding sample and assay quality or integrity.
Maintain the Hamilton Liquid Handler, BSCII, centrifuges and small lab equipment.
Ad ministrative Responsibilities:
General lab support duties such as filing paperwork, completing 5S duties, requesting supplies/reagents
Responsible for understanding and following all Labcorp policy manuals.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Medical Technology with no additional experience required OR Associates degree in chemical, physical or biological science and with 3 months of supervised training or experience in clinical lab testing.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business need
