DescriptionHealth Policy AnalystLocation: Must be within a 50 mile radius of a Pulse Point location.This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid workforce strategy which includes virtual work and 1-2 days in office per week.The Health Plan Analyst is responsible for conducting research and supporting health policy data analysis.How You Will Make an ImpactPrimary duties to include, but are not limited to:

Monitors relevant new literature, studies, and data assets, keeps team apprised of new analyses, and summarizes key findings for internal use.

Conducts research on health policy topics, as directed by other staff, using reviews of published literature, white papers and gray literature, news articles, and internet sources.

Drafts outlines, data briefs, and issue briefs in conjunction with other staff and partners.

Identifies available public data sets, applies econometric and/or statistical techniques for conducting data analyses, conducts data work in excel, and creates charts, graphs, and maps in conjunction with other staff and partners.

Organizes the PPI research agenda, creating project plans, timelines, and other tools.

Assists with prooing, quality checks of data, and reviewing layouts of papers and website updates.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field such as public health, public policy, biology, economics, law or business; 1 year of relevant work experience in health policy research; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, and interest in current policy issues in one or more of the following areas strongly preferred: managed care, state health policy, Medicare, Medicaid, Affordable Care Act, health care reimbursement, mental health/substance abuse, maternal and child health, disability, long-term care, prescription drugs, digital healthcare, social drivers of health, or other relevant areas.

Organized, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious with a willingness to learn.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Able to work effectively independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Mastery of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Graduate degree highly preferred.
