This role is responsible for achieving annual goals related to growth in revenue, contribution, pricing, and carloads.Key responsibilities include managing sales and marketing efforts across the network and establishing and maintaining relationships with key customer accounts. The Assistant Market Manager also works collaboratively with other key business partners to develop and negotiate price proposals, car supply, and service packages that meet customer needs and ensure NS receives appropriate value for the level of service provided.Principal Duties: Formulates decisions to secure and maintain business on assigned commodities. Identifies and responds on a timely basis to pricing and marketing opportunities. Negotiates assigned commodities with customers, other carriers, and other departments. Utilizes all available resources in order to maximize NS's profitability, revenue and market share. Participates and communicates with applicable trade organizations and is familiar with trade publications. Assists accounting in assessing the proper rates and aid in collection of Norfolk Southern revenue.
