Who knows where our shared journey will take you?As the Director of Portfolio Application Support, you will be responsible for leading a team of technical professionals in support of significant business volume and market share growth for the Process Automation Portfolio. You will lead the newly formed Portfolio Application Support Organization, which brings together product experts from across the Process Automation business into one team who will support customers with their pre- and post- sales needs. Your team will provide pre-sales technical support, application support, and post-sales service for the Process Automation Portfolio. In this role, you will closely collaborate with Digital Industries Sales and the Process Automation Business Unit to ensure that we are optimally deploying our resources to drive growth and increase market share. The ideal candidate for this role is growth minded, an excellent communicator, highly organized, and has both the technical and business acumen to drive and optimize a best-in-class Application Support group in pursuit of our growth targets.This role leads the teams responsible for pre-sales technical consulting, application engineering & hotline support, and portfolio services (approximately 25 people overall) and reports to the Director of Portfolio Sales Development within the Process Automation Business Unit (Siemens Digital Industries) in the United States.Director of Portfolio Application Support (Digital Industries Process Automation)This position will be remote in the continental US.Role Description

Leading a team of Application Engineers, Technical Sales Support, Service Technicians with backgrounds from multiple business lines to form a highly efficient and collaborative team

Orchestrating the pre-sales technical product and applications support required to win customer opportunities in close collaboration with the Digital Industries Sales Organization

Working with peers within the Portfolio Sales Development organization to optimize internal processes and interfaces in the pursuit of opportunities

Overseeing your team in supporting Siemens Sales Channels with appropriate technical support

Managing change and the introduction of new processes and sales approaches within the newly established Portfolio Sales Development Team within Process Automation

Coaching and properly skilling your team to enable success in the new structure

Managing hotline support for the measurement intelligence products

Levering the team to support trainings for internal resources and external partners

Coordinating technical escalation topics with the Process Automation Headquarters

Overseeing repair and service activities for select instrumentation products, especially continuous gas analyzers (CGAs)

Developing a new process for handling continuous gas analyzer repair

Proactively managing the utilization of the team to balance the customer experience and costs

Travelling up to 25% of the time

You will win us over by having the following qualifications:

8 or more years of work experience in a large corporate setting. With at least 5 of those leading engineering, technical support, or services teams

Awareness of the core technologies within Process Automation (distributed control systems, process instrumentation, industrial power supplies and networking, and simulation software), key customer markets (Oil & Gas, Chemical, Water & Waste, Water, Food & Beverage, Mining and Cement industries etc.), and competitors

Deep knowledge of at least one of the core technologies within Process Automation

Experience developing or optimizing processes

Business acumen and demonstrated success managing departmental budgets

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong delegation skills

Ability to influence and deliver results in a matrixed global organization

High degree of professionalism and integrity

Preferred Qualifications:
