Residential Electrical New Construction Estimator

As a Residential New Construction Estimator you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential new construction projects. This role involves interpreting blueprints, performing material take-offs, and working closely with clients, suppliers, and project managers to ensure all project costs are accounted for. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices, materials, and costs within the residential market.

Key Responsibilities:

This position’s primary skill requirements include accurately creating electrical material and labor takeoffs.

Analyze project data to create accurate estimates that support efficient residential electrical installations.

Complete take-offs on time, ensuring all estimates are thorough and precise.

Ensure effective communication to guarantee the accuracy of quality take-offs and cost estimates.

Participate in internal and external proposal meetings to ensure alignment on project requirements and scope.

Visit residential project sites when necessary to gather additional project-specific information to finalize proposals.

Provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive estimates to support the sales team in delivering high-quality proposals for residential projects.

Respond to questions from management and installation teams throughout project execution to ensure estimates align with the project.

Assist in developing solutions for residential electrical challenges, focusing on quality, operational efficiency, and safety improvements.

Review and analyze electrical design inputs, ensuring they meet residential construction standards and requirements.

Prepare and review residential electrical system calculations.

Conduct reviews of technical information to ensure it meets residential client needs.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential construction estimating, preferably in new construction.

Background in residential electrical installations, including lighting, outlets, and wiring.

Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it applies to residential construction. NFPA 70

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to read and interpret residential engineering drawings and specifications.

Experience with residential electrical systems and lighting design.

Proficiency in Bluebeam and ProCore (preferred).

High level of proficiency with estimating software, Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Strong work ethic, honesty, and initiative, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

Proven problem-solving skills, especially in residential electrical project contexts.

Some experience with project management software and best practices.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal skills and resourcefulness, particularly in working with residential clients and subcontractors.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
