Title: Regulatory Rate Analyst or SeniorCompany: Peoples Gas SystemState and City: Florida - TampaShift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days| HybridWHAT YOU’LL DOA Regulatory Analyst with Peoples Gas will perform data analysis and research associated with regulatory filings (e.g., Petition for Rate Increase, Clause / Rider, other recurring filings). The analyst will also assist with facilitating preparation of the company’s responses to data requests, interrogatories, audit requests, etc.This position can be hired at different levels within this job family based on education and experience. The position offered will be based on experience and qualifications, and the business and/or technical needs of the department.Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Listed below are for the Analyst. Each level will have increased duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments.

Perform various data analysis and conduct research for regulatory filings, internal and external presentations, and regulatory reporting.

Assist in the preparation of petitions, testimony, cost recovery projections and true-up filings, and other data requests supporting cost recovery and other general regulatory requests.

Prepare regulatory petitions, discovery (e.g. interrogatories, production of documents, data requests, etc.) responses, testimony and other documents. This also includes coordination with legal counselors for internal and external witness deposition and hearing training and preparation for clause hearings and rate proceedings.

Conduct special projects and studies to address current or future regulatory problems or opportunities.

Conduct national and Florida regulatory and policy research, general analysis, rate comparisons, and interpretations of State and Federal Rules and Tariffs in order to provide guidance to management for informational and decision-making purposes. Develop various regulatory analysis and other analytic and strategic considerations needed to foster and support a company position at the FPSC.

Must Haves & Nice-to Haves Analyst:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, engineering or business is required

A minimum of 3 years of work experience related to the duties and responsibilities is required. Related experience consists of regulatory affairs, accounting, finance, economics, legal support or engineering.

Demonstrates the ability to work under general supervision and complete somewhat varied duties requiring some judgment or simple analysis to determine course of action. Strong math aptitude. Intermediate understanding and use of personal computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Must Haves & Nice-to Haves Senior:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, engineering or business is required

A minimum of 5 years of work experience related to the duties and responsibilities is required. Related experience consists of regulatory affairs, accounting, finance, economics, legal support or engineering.

Demonstrates the ability to work under limited supervision, work independently and complete complex duties requiring independent judgment, analysis and interpretation of policy. A solid working understanding and application of the regulatory framework, Commission Rules and Regulations, company tariffs and rate design concepts is required. Strong math aptitude. Intermediate understanding and use of personal computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with emphasis on spreadsheet analysis is required.

Nice-to-Haves:

A minimum of 3 years of experience performing the duties and responsibilities of the Regulatory Analyst or another position of comparable level in the regulatory field.
