JOB SUMMARY: This intermediate-level managerial role involves moderate decision-making with limited supervision, requiring incumbents to adapt procedures and work independently to achieve results, often devising new problem-solving methods. Errors in work can lead to inaccuracies in reports and may result in material or time losses. Incumbents communicate with subordinates and other managers to coordinate efforts, plan activities, and meet unit goals. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and supporting DOR’s LAN, WAN, VoIP, and Internet systems, maintaining network hardware and software, and ensuring network availability for all users. They provide Service Desk support for network-related issues, adhering to ITSM policies, and review escalated calls for accuracy and timeliness. Documenting troubleshooting steps in an automated ticketing system, monitoring network components, and assisting in research and development for statewide systems are key tasks. Coordination with ISP management for acquiring necessary hardware and services, documenting team standards, implementing operational plans, and reporting on work assignments also fall under this role, along with completing change requests for hardware and software installations. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Three years’ experience of first contact/help desk/level 1 customer service.
Experience with enterprise-level LAN, WAN and WLAN support.
Experience supporting/maintaining firewalls, reverse proxies, routers, hubs, switches and access points.
PREFERENCES:
Experience with PBX, voicemail, interactive voice services, call management systems and telecommunication accounting systems
Experience creating and maintaining thorough technical documentation
Checkpoint firewall experience
F5 experience
Always on VPN experience
Cisco WLAN experience
Infoblox experience
SPECIAL NOTES:
