Description If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Robert Half for you to check out at a firm in the Wholesale Distribution - Non-Durable industry. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Pompano Beach, Florida based company is offering a short-term contract / contract to permanent opportunity that is multi-faceted and challenging in nature. Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Partake in annual closing processes
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision Requirements - High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Solid understanding of budgeting
Experience with Accounting Functions
Proficiency in general ledger
Knowledge of month end closings
Foundational knowledge in Accounting Principles
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
