GSPS Marine is a fast-growing Marine and Powersports dealership. We are seeking a skilled Fiberglass Repair Technician to join our team in our collision repair shop for Boats and PWCs located in Marine Service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fixing and maintaining various products. If you have a strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy troubleshooting and problem-solving, we want to hear from you.
Experience in the Marine Industry is preferred but not required.
Experience in the automotive collision repair industry such as sanding, shaping, spraying, and buffing are perfect skill sets for this job.
Responsibilities:
Performs complex repairs and re-gelcoats defects in fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts, using hand tools and power tools for final finish appearance.
Examine parts for mold and lamination defects, such as cracks, air pockets, blisters, and cosmetic flaws.
Understands de-lamination and the corrective action necessary to repair.
Grinds out defective areas, smooths rough edges/areas by using appropriate power and hand-tools.
Cuts fiberglass: mixes resin and catalyst, apply patch to defective area.
Shapes and smooths edges match the contour of area to be patched.
Mix gelcoat with catalysts and sprays or brushes repaired surfaces.
Touches up flaws with paintbrush. Ensures color match.
Buffs and Polishes repaired surfaces.
Responsible for keeping the work area clean and organized.
Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Experience in auto body repair
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance
- Ability to perform auto painting and detailing
- Skill in airless paint spraying and buffing
- Previous dealership experience and welding skills are a plus
- Knowledge of auto glass, customer service, and auto estimating
- Capable of heavy lifting
- Background in auto restoration or mechanic experience is beneficial

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Lifting, pushing, pulling up to twenty-five pounds for extended periods of time throughout the day. Frequent exposure to fiberglass dust and loud noises.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Occasional lifting or pushing of items up to fifty pounds.
We offer paid training to Yamaha and Mercury outboard schools and electronics schools to applicants that exemplify outstanding mechanical aptitude, as well as training for fiberglass repair.
Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 9-5:30
