Instructs and coaches site management and employees in creating a supportive environment which fosters continual improvement in safety and environmental performance.Provide organizational support and direction for human resources applications including employee engagement activities, training, talent acquisition, compensation and performance management. Support Human Resources at the site level by managing orientations that include onboarding.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties and Responsibilities: EH&S

Ensure that the EH&S Management System is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with appropriate standards

Work with management at all levels to develop, plan, coordinate, and implement efforts to improve site and division performance relative to environment, health and safety

Provide leadership for plant Behavioral Based Safety Program including continual improvements and training; advise, coach, and counsel managers and employees to develop and maintain safe workplace practices

Direct and lead emergency response/disaster preparedness program

Provide guidance to managers and employees on complying with corporate, federal, state and local guidelines, policies, and regulations such as Oshkosh’s Worldwide Policy, OSHA Standards, EPA Regulations, and Plant Rules and Programs

Recognize health, safety, and environmental hazards in the workplace by evaluating, recommending, and implementing controls to eliminate unsafe acts and conditions

Administer overall hazardous waste management efforts at the facility; ensure compliance with all requirements of federal, state, and local laws and regulations covering the generation, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous waste

Maintain and analyze site accident statistics and lead efforts to identify and correct unsatisfactory trends

Investigate injuries, near-miss incidents, and environmental incidents, in conjunction with line and staff personnel, to determine causes and take corrective actions to prevent future incidents; notify appropriate senior managers of pertinent details and solutions

Strong communication and organizational skills are required to build rapport with all employees, motivate employees to improve, make presentations, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and drive positive changes

Duties and Responsibilities: HR

Ensure new hires receive orientation practices according to HR procedures, and that onboarding documentation is entered into Workday as well as e-Verify data within three business days

Ensure job description accuracy for each job recruited; review candidate requirements for the job; post jobs in accordance with appropriate requisition procedures

Ensure hiring records and affirmative action plan are maintained, retrievable and in compliance with federal/state EEO guidelines

Verify that performance appraisals are conducted for all employees on an annual basis and address current employee responsibilities and/or objectives

Coach team members to encourage optimal business results, the empowerment of others, lead/manage change, build relationships, support quality and solution-driven problem solving

Organize annual benefits meetings to update their selections and answer benefits questions

Lead investigation of assigned ethics complaint to maintain a high ethical culture

Other projects and responsibilities as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum three (3) years of EH&S related experience

Minimum three (3) years of Human Resources related experience

Experience with Emergency Management or Incident Management

Knowledge of legal compliance in areas of FLSA, EEO, FMLA, AAP

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills

Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent Military Experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint

Knowledge of Workday, or other related systems

Strong working knowledge of all OSHA and EPA requirements applicable to the company
