We are looking for an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our in-house maintenance team at our manufacturing plant. This role is focused exclusively on maintaining and repairing the forklifts equipment used at our facility.
This role is essential to the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of our plant equipment and systems.
Key responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair plant-owned forklifts.
Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on all forklifts used in our manufacturing operations.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulics, and electrical issues quickly and effectively to minimize equipment downtime.
Keep accurate records of services performed, inspections, and parts used.
Perform oil changes, grease and lubricate forklift parts (e.g., boom, cirt fittings)
Steam/pressure wash the forklift.
Touch up paint forklift when needed.
Will do tire changes.
Maintain proper transmission oil level and battery water level etc.
Check battery terminals for corrosion.
Some fabricating parts will be needed.
Will complete overall inspections of the forklift systems. For example, the mechanic will check:
Levels of fluids
For leaks
General engine condition
Muffler
Air cleaner
Clutch
Steering
Requirements:
5+ years of experience servicing forklifts equipment.
Solid understanding of electrical, hydraulics, mechanical systems.
Ability to read services manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Must be able to work independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Should have strong background in welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Must have good mechanical background with some knowledge of hydraulic systems, LP systems, and electrical wiring.
Must be able to apply torque, bend, twist, kneel, sit, stand, lay on the ground etc. throughout shift.
Preferred qualifications:
Technical certification or training in equipment or forklift repair.
Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
Familiar with brands such as Toyota, Hangcha and Hyster diesel Forklifts.
