We are hiring a Staff Accountant for a well-known construction company!Job Description Required Skills
Cost Accounting: Handles general cost accounting and related duties.
Financial Statements: Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
General Ledger: Maintains and updates the general ledger.
Invoice Management: Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly books.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses bank inquiries.
Account Reconciliation: Reconciles various financial accounts, including cash disbursement, payroll, and customer accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
Accounts Payable: Verifies and completes payment of invoices, ensuring correct account charges.
Audit Assistance: Provides necessary information and documents to outside auditors for annual audits.
Tax Filing: Files tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies.
Software Coordination: Works with software vendors to maintain and update accounting systems.
Purchasing and Invoicing: Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
Accounting Practices: Keeps up-to-date with acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to correctly prepare tax reports. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required. At least three years of related experience required.
