Reports to: Equipment Manager

FLSA Category: Nonexempt/Hourly Position

Compensation: $25 to $30 Per Hour commensurate with experience

Relocation: Club will assist with relocation

Position Responsibility:

The Golf Equipment Mechanic will maintain and repair the club’s turf equipment, including mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance and repairs to golf course machinery and equipment according to equipment specifications and requirements. The Golf Course Mechanic will be an integral part of the shop and overall agronomy team in producing exceptional golf course conditions for the club.



Essential Job Functions:

Assist in maintaining, diagnosing and repairing all equipment in the fleet, primarily Toro and Jacobson equipment.

Assist in all aspects of the preventive maintenance of equipment, including accurate record keeping.

Assist or perform the fabrication of parts, including any cutting, folding, casting, forging, machining, shearing, punching, stamping or welding.

Understand and practice all health, safety and environmental regulations, including proper disposal of waste oils, tires, etc.

Follow establish daily, weekly and monthly repair and maintenance schedules based on equipment requirements and course agronomic schedule.

Maintain accurate records for equipment and parts inventory, purchases, equipment conditions, repairs and costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.

Maintain an organized, clean and safe shop.

Assist in performing daily course checks to ensure cut quality and proper operation of equipment.

Assist with other tasks, such as working as an operator on the course.



Expected Experience, Skills, Abilities, Knowledge and Education:

Working knowledge of turf and landscape equipment.

Understanding of hydraulics, electrical components, combustion engines and diagnostics.

Ability to read and follow manuals, understand preventive maintenance requirements and schedules and repair equipment.

Know and have the ability to utilize various trade tools and the safety guidelines of their use.

Have a basic understanding of the game of golf and the effects turf equipment has on turf condition.

Knowledgeable of computer software systems such as Outlook, Excel, Word and preventive maintenance systems.

Trade school or formal education or certifications in mechanical, electrical, related programs or equivalent experience.
