We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced podiatry office. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Pay range based on skill set and will be graduated once a 90 day probationary period is completed.
$15.00-21.00 per hour - discussion regarding a salaried position possible - open to negotiation based on skill set and performance. We are very driven by success within our team as we are a collaborative group and the environment is positive with an outstanding patient base.
We prefer someone that can grow with us and commit long term but are willing to consider part-time help as well and semi-retired applicants are accepted as well. We have a strong commitment to our patients and to each other in our office environment. You can be more hands on as you learn with us.
Hours are very reasonable with an hour lunch half of which is paid. Fridays we end early. 8 am to 5pm is our longest day. No weekend work is required. Opportunities for additional hours are available.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Manage patient registration, scheduling, and check-out processes
Verify patient demographics, insurance, and billing information
Prepare and process patient paperwork, including consent forms and medical records
Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care
Handle payment processing, co-pays, and billing inquiries
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Perform basic administrative tasks, such as scanning, copying, and filing
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient office operations
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree welcomed
1-2 years of experience in a medical office or customer service setting preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and technologically savvy a plus
Familiarity with medical terminology and coding plus, willing to train (CPT, ICD-10)
Certification as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) or Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) a plus
Working Conditions:
(1) Part-time position (15-25 hour per week)
(1) Full-time position (32-40 hours per week) with occasional overtime as needed
Work in a busy medical office environment with frequent patient interaction and positivity
Ability to sit for extended periods, use computer equipment, willing to learn new technology
