We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of professional culinary experience and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef with the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety are maintained.

Full-time (50-60 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in designing and preparing menus for catering events

Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation

Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standard

Maintain inventory levels and ensure all necessary supplies are available

Oversee food preparation to ensure consistent quality and portion control

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen

Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment

Assist in managing food costs and optimizing kitchen productivity

Conduct regular kitchen inspections and maintain cleanliness and organization

Assist with menu planning and development of new recipes

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of professional culinary experience, preferably in a catering or high-volume kitchen environment

Strong leadership and supervisory skills

In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Flexibility to work various shifts, including days and afternoons

Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not required
