Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Field Service Technician in the Tampa Bay area, engaging in essential environmental and infrastructure projects. Your role will focus on performing various field inspections and investigations to collect high-quality and accurate data essential for our operations. Responsibilities
Performing field inspections and investigations by collecting high-quality and accurate data
Manhole Inspections - record various structure attributes and identify defects
Smoke Testing - conduct smoke tests and record defects encountered
Night Flow Isolations - measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage
Dye Testing - conduct dye water tracing and dye water flooding
Flow Monitoring - install & maintain open channel flow metering equipment
Work in Confined Spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes
This position requires a lot of walking outside through various terrain, in extreme heat and cold.
Qualifications
A High School diploma or GED is required
Previous skilled trade experience preferred but not required
Must be able to travel
Willing to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines
Have the ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification
Should possess basic computer skills
Good technical skills
They prefer people with no experience doing Sewer System Evaluation Survey projects. The first choice is someone with some mechanical/technical aptitude, who likes to work outside.
Must be able to change gears on the fly, if a project is canceled or location changes.
Must be willing to work in hot smelly sewers, work in confined spaces, work in the outside elements, and have the ability to work independently.
Work Environment The role involves significant outdoor work, including walking through various terrains in extreme weather conditions. The primary task includes digging in yards to uncover water lines adjacent to the water meter to verify the pipe material.Employer Value:
