The Daily Rider is a bicycle shop on the growing, dynamic H Street corridor. We sell and service bikes that are primarily used as transportation.
Candidates for this position should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
General Skills:
Assess bikes for repair and write coherent workorders for follow-up
Discuss repair assessments and estimates with customers
Communicate with fellow staff members and management verbally and in writing regarding ongoing repairs, special orders, and customer requests.
Mechanical Skills
Basic adjustment, installation, and diagnosis of all modern drivetrains, brake systems, wheels, and other standard components
Adjustment and maintenance of hydraulic and cable actuated disc brake systems
Adjustment and maintenance of internally geared hubs
Experience with wheel building

1. The bike you are working on has been skipping when the customer applies high pressure to the pedals. The customer states that it happens mostly in higher gears. What parts do you inspect and change?
2. What is the difference between a left pedal and a right pedal? Why?
