Small Architectural firm is seeking a Bookkeeper/Office Manager for a small creative yet casual office. You must be able to work during normal business hours in our Alexandria, Virginia office.
Bookkeeper/Office Manager Responsibilities and Duties:
Candidate will perform all day-to-day bookkeeping functions through Quick Books or other accounting software, to include transactions and accounting, general ledger entry and tracking, and accounts payable and receivable responsibilities. Ideal candidate would also provide day to day office management functions including filing and document management, office supplies, renew and monitor trade and business licenses. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Reconcile accounts and prepare bank deposits
-Assist in budget preparation and monitoring
-As the appointed bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining precise financial records, overseeing expense tracking, facilitating payment processes, and preparing essential financial reports
-In this role, you will be tasked with managing and maintaining financial records through the utilization of accounting software
-Your responsibilities will extend to ensuring the accurate recording and tracking of all expenses, invoices, and payments
-Process payroll, and uphold accurate employee records
-Collaborating with external accountants, auditors, and vendors is a key aspect of the position, along with adherence to legal and regulatory requirements related to financial management
-Manage day-to-day office operations including supplies, equipment, general filing, and facility maintenance
-Perform bookkeeping tasks such as invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
-Coordinate with the senior management team on financial planning and budgeting
-Assist in HR duties, including onboarding
-Answer incoming calls and provide excellent customer service
Our Ideal Bookkeeper/Office Manager Candidate Possesses:
Knowledge of SOV/ % Billing is helpful and various Architectural Design platforms
We currently work with QuickBooks. Please only apply if you are proficient in at QuickBooks and willing to learn an additional software.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (drop down list, pivot tables, etc.) is a plus
5+ years of bookkeeper and/or finance experience;
A professional appearance;
Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are a must!
This is expected to be a part-time position (+/- 30 Hours/week) but can be discussed based on work load
Starting at $25.00/hour, salary and benefits is to be discussed and based on experience
