Position: Re-entry Coordinator Washington, DC

Position Overview: The Re-entry Coordinator is responsible for all phases of coordinating and holding presentations at the correctional facilities, performing intake, scheduling mediation sessions in conjunction with the facility, mediating as needed and case management system data entry and reporting.

In addition, this position will provide support to the mediation center program manager for conflict management trainings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Partnership Coordination

● Meet with correctional facility leadership to establish regular access.

● Trouble-shoot with correctional facility leadership as necessary to maintain regular

access and on-going mediation

● Coordinate volunteer orientations with correctional facility staff on a regular basis, to ensure sufficient volunteer coverage

● Communicate with CMDC on a regular basis with status updates and immediately when there are problems.

● Coordinate data collection for central correctional facilities and work with researcher to ensure proper data collection.

● Maintain partnerships with other re-entry agencies in Washington, DC Mediation and Case Management

● Conduct inmate presentations and intake at DCDOC according to a regular schedule.

● Follow checklist and data collection questionnaire for inmates and outside potential participants.

● Confirm and reconfirm inmate release status frequently.

● Prepare and send invitation to mediation packet to outside participants

● Make and receive calls from outside potential participants

● Track and Post Status of Cases Internally

● Confirm security clearance for outside participant(s) and mediators

● Inform correctional facility contacts via e-mail of scheduled mediations

● Confirm space for mediation with correctional facility

● Post mediations on scheduling calendar

● Provide mediation details to Volunteer Coordinator

● Obtain security clearance memorandum for mediation from correctional facility and attach to Set-Up Sheet

● Mediate re-entry mediation cases

● Make two week follow up check in calls to released inmates

● Schedule additional sessions post release

● Submit weekly reports every Monday to include # of presentations, # presented to; # of inmates receiving mediation; # of sessions. Conflict Management Trainings

● Coordinate the logistics of conflict management workshops with local re-entry agencies for the Care Package program.

● Coordinate conflict management training for returning citizens. Prepare Conflict Management flyers and communicate with local partners of upcoming events.

● Work with CMM trainer to ensure workshops are organized.

● Maintain records of participants of the conflict management workshops and recipients of the care packages.

Other duties as assigned.

The Re-entry Mediation Coordinator will report to the CMDC Director or designee and will primarily work in Washington, DC.

Start date: Immediate Salary: $30,000 - $50,000/year plus comprehensive health benefits to include 100% employer paid premium and a Heath Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to pay the deductible (for employee and children). Benefits also include life / disability insurance and a 401k plan with an employer contribution after one full year of employment.

This position includes M-F and some Saturdays in lieu of a weekday based on mediation and training scheduling.
