Lebanese Taverna Restaurants Group is seeking a Chef (Kitchen Manager) for its Washington D.C. restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Assures accurate production of menu items to specifications.
- Maintains adequate par levels of a variety of menu components.
- plans, and executes daily production.
- Supervises, expedites, and participates in cooking during service periods.
- Orders and takes delivery of ordered items and ensures proper storage of food items.
- Possesses expertise in butchery, and the ability to inspire and train others.
- Plans for and executes catering orders and special events.
- Holds a professional appearance and demeanor, interacting with guests as required.
- Controls food and labor costs to meet guideline.
- Commits to a high standard communication and professionalism and punctuality.
- Provides quality in cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of similar experience in up-scale/casual kitchens or the equivalent.
- The ability to communicate efficiently with co-workers, guests, and executive management.
- Display a passion for cooking, joy in providing gracious hospitality and a dedicated work ethic.
- Experience in Middle Eastern cuisine (particularly Lebanese) is a plus.
