The main purpose of this position is to set up and serve meals, and perform sanitation duties in the entire kitchen area. Performing job functions in a timely manner is an essential part of adult medical day care.
· Prepares and sets up food service lines and tables and serves food upon receiving from caterer.
· Performing preparation duties such as rinsing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruit and vegetables.
· Prepares raw vegetables and fruits, beverages, sandwiches, salads, and simple desserts.
· Following established recipes to prepare simple menu items.
· Following guidelines to ensure correct receiving and serving food temperatures, and documenting on the food temperature log
· Monitor and maintain food storage area temperatures such as fridge, freezer and kitchen.
· Serving elderly participants in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner with adequate portion control.
· Cleans and sanitizes utensils, dishes, pots, pans, appliances, and work areas such as kitchen and dining areas according to the established procedures.
· Complying with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures.
· Communicate any issues related to food menu to Food Director
· Proficient understanding of food allergies and modified diets.
· Able to drive a minivan to pick up food when needed.
Requirements:
· Preferred to have a Food Service Manager License.
· Must have a Passenger Vehicle Driver License.
· Have good communication skills.
· Have the ability to pass Criminal Background Check.
· Have the ability to meet physical requirements of position.
Hours: 8:00 to 2:30 pm (Mon-Sat). Total 39 hours per week
Pay: $17/hr for first 3 months and then after evaluation potentially raise to $18/hr
