Catering Sales Manager
Old Blue BBQ is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and detail-oriented Sales Manager to manage the sales, planning, and execution of catered events. Our ideal candidate has experience in off-premise catering for weddings and private events, enthusiasm for great food and great service. As the Sales Manager, you will coordinate and oversee the sales, planning, and execution of your catered events.
Primary Responsibilities
Event Sales
o Respond to leads, schedule and conduct client consultations.
o Generate proposals, review with the client and revise as necessary to win the contract.
o Develop and maintain client relationships to grow repeat business.
o Meet and exceed individual monthly sales goals, coordinate with the Catering Sales team to ensure that monthly sales goals and future projections are on track.
o Complete special projects as assigned to improve the catering sales process.
Event Planning
o Maintain continuous communication with clients to ensure the planning process progresses smoothly and to assist whenever possible.
o Schedule and conduct client meetings, including venue walkthroughs and rental house visits, “Brideshare” décor consultations, and other meetings as needed.
o Schedule event staff and coordinate logistical needs with the Catering Sales team to ensure that all the events on a given day are well-equipped.
o Complete packing lists and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure that service items and equipment are stocked and packed correctly.
o Coordinate with Event Planners and other vendors to ensure that the Event Vendor Team is well-informed and prepared to serve the client.
o Complete special projects as assigned to improve the event planning process.
Event Execution
o Attend weekly event production meetings and post-event review meetings to ensure that all divisions of the company are well informed about the status of upcoming and past events.
o Prepare BEO reports to ensure that event staff are well-informed regarding the unique details of each event.
o Oversee the event from start to finish to ensure that client needs and expectations are exceeded.
o Conduct post-event reviews with clients to ensure their satisfaction and thank them for their business. Conduct post-event reviews with event staff to identify issues and provide opportunities for improvement. Coordinate with the Catering Sales team to implement improvements based on client and staff feedback.
Qualifications
3-5 years’ experience in catering, restaurants, and/or hospitality.
1-3 years' experience in catering sales.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and work effectively with a variety of coworkers and clients from diverse backgrounds.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Able to work evenings and weekends.
Experience with Total Party Planner or other catering software highly desired.
Ability to speak Spanish highly desired
Compensation
Estimated total compensation: $60k-70k/year
$52,000/year base salary + sales commissions
