In this vital role you will play a meaningful role in delivering against Amgen’s commitment to transform the lives of patients and keep them at the center of everything we do. The role will deliver impactful communications for the U.S. and global corporate affairs strategy across multiple brands.This role reports to a member of the Portfolio Communications group within Corporate Affairs. The team is fully remote in locations across the U.S.; candidates located near Amgen’s Thousand Oaks, Calif. headquarters are especially encouraged to apply.

Support and implement Amgen portfolio Corporate Affairs strategy across multiple brands with high corporate visibility.

Support a coordinated approach to achievements, news flow and activity planning to effectively improve opportunities and prepare against issues.

Effectively develop and creatively use internal and external communications channels, including earned, social, owned and paid/sponsored media, working with Amgen’s Enterprise teams (e.g. Internal Communications, Media Relations, Social Media and Content teams) as appropriate.

Work closely with Legal, Regulatory and Medical on the review and approval of multiple materials/assets through e-Approve and MAC.

Effectively work with agency to support clear objectives, critical metrics, continued drive for excellence and innovation in support of the brand/franchise.

The corporate affairs professional we seek is a manager with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degreeOrMaster’s degree and 2 years of communications experienceOrBachelor’s degree and 4 years of communications experienceOrAssociate’s degree and 8 years of communications experienceOrHigh school diploma / GED and 10 years of communications experiencePreferred Qualifications:

More than 5 years in a corporate and/or consultant communications environment.

Strong knowledge of the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or health care

Experience and demonstrated skills in managing and delivering communications strategies and plans in a complex organization.

Ability to operate and collaborate effectively on large cross-functional teams.

Experience in social and digital media, media relations and issues management, especially in support of product marketing communications.

Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills, with attention to detail.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change and move projects forward quickly.

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and planning skills.

Collaboratively works well with a diverse group of people

Resourceful self-starter with demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm and creativity.

Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
