We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified demolition estimator/project manager with a minimum of at least 2-5 years of experience in estimating, bidding and proposal writing for various size construction projects in both residential and commercial demolition and environmental construction projects to join our team. The estimator position encompasses all of the duties of a well-seasoned estimator plus the additional responsibility to determine the cost of performing the work and arrive at a successful bid price. The Estimator shall be on the alert to discover cost saving possibilities and also conditions that will cost more than those normally encountered. Of highest importance in this position is the accuracy of arriving at the actual final cost of construction.

Responsibilities:

Thoroughly review and complete the project plans, bid documents and specifications.

Estimate crew cost including equipment, and other daily expenses.

Prepare detailed and accurate material quantity take off, labor, equipment, etc.

Negotiate with material suppliers and subcontractors.

Input quantities into EXCEL spreadsheet.

Thoroughly review all take-off and pricing, specifically self-performed work.

Flag and point out to management any costs that are believed to be risks

Review project estimate with management team.

Ability to write proposals

Submit bid documents within deadline requirements.

Prepare scope specifications and requirements, prepare and input project schedules

Adjusting estimates as needed with project changes

Creating purchase and change orders

Excellent communication skills both orally and written is required

Ask assistance of others who are knowledgeable of the work to be performed.

Assume lead role in job turnover to superintendent and project management team.

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent 2-5 years of estimating experience

Must have a minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator for heavy construction projects.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Excellent verbal and written skills.

Advanced project estimator skills that include performing engineering calculations, and effective communication with Application Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, Engineering, and Vendors.

Build and maintain relationships when attending pre-bids, site conferences, etc.
