Define, develop, and manage strategic communications initiatives.

Enhance awareness, understanding, and support of Ford+ with federal, state, and local policymakers, journalists, trade associations, and thought leaders.

Serve as the primary communications advisor to Ford’s Government Affairs and Policy leaders, offering relevant insights and guidance to the broader Ford Communications team.

Safeguard and bolster Ford’s reputation and future to the benefit of all stakeholders, influencing discourse, policy, and legislation.

Strategically plan and collaborate with colleagues in Government Affairs and Communications across Ford on various topics, including Supply Chain, Trade, Economy, Emissions, Manufacturing, Sustainability, National Security, Data Privacy, and New Technologies (EVs, Autonomy, etc.).

What you'll do…

Acquire, sustain, and apply/convey working knowledge of customer experiences, new technologies (EVs, digital platforms, software), and operational excellence (costs, quality).

Develop and manage initiatives that bring Ford’s story to life for reporters and government stakeholders.

Leverage well-established media and stakeholder relationships, social media, and nontraditional communications channels, including serving as an on-point company spokesperson.

Lead and maintain a strategic storytelling calendar.

Select, manage, guide, and efficiently deploy the capabilities and insights of communications agencies.

You'll have

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, political science, public affairs, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in political communications, focusing on strategic advocacy and media relations. This experience should be gained in one or more of the following settings: corporate communications, senior elected official's office, government agency, public relations agency, trade association, or reporting on these organizations for a top-tier media outlet.
