Job SummaryWorking as the Director of Dining Services you will be responsible for all culinary and retail operations and leadership of one or more of our campus dining locations, creating excitement by overseeing operations, in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines. This position will be responsible to drive guest satisfaction and engagement! The selected applicant for the position must have a current Certified Food Handler’s Identification Card issued by the DC Department of Health, & Serv Safe Certification.Key Responsibilities:

Works in cooperation with The George Washington University campus community to enhance campus partnerships and to support sustainability awareness, programming for nutritional and dietary awareness, residential life, etc.

Coordinates and executes programming and events, and lead a diverse committee of university and Chartwells participants

Analyzes customer research, current market conditions and competitor information

Manages the productivity of the culinary and front of house teams

Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient uses of resources

Directs staff to provide scheduled dining services in accordance with corporate policies and presentation standards

Implements and maintains cash handling standards as outlined in the Corporate Policies and Procedures Manual to eliminate theft of services or Company funds

Oversees P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the area of responsibility

Maintains excellent relationships with clients, students, and the campus community

Works with the culinary and management teams on campus to create nutritious and top-quality food for the students and campus community

Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the Chartwells marketing and culinary teams

Monitors industry best practices and trends

Preferred Qualifications:

A.S. or equivalent experience

MUST HAVE a current Certified Food Handler’s Identification Card issued by the DC Department of Health

Three to five years of progressive management experience

Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation

Experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet

High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable

ServSafe certified is highly desirable
