Description We are searching for a diligent Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable Department, handling high-volume invoices, and managing a team. This position operates within the legal services industry and offers a unique chance to grow professionally.Responsibilities: Oversee the Accounts Payable Department and manage a team to ensure smooth operations. Process high-volume invoices for multiple sites accurately and in a timely manner. Manage a comprehensive system for all payables, including policy review and process improvement. Handle coding, matching, batching, and processing checks and ACHs. Oversee sales & use tax processing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Train and lead the Accounts Payable staff to enhance their skills and performance. Set up new vendors within the ERP System to maintain an updated vendor database. Handle credit card reconciliations, EFTs & ACHs to ensure accurate financial records. Assist in processing 1099s and W9s to comply with tax regulations. Resolve discrepancies in payments and handle vendor inquiries to maintain good relationships with suppliers. Requirements Candidate must hold a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. Comprehensive understanding and proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations. Proven experience in managing and supervising a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical skills for resolving AP related issues and discrepancies. Proficient in the use of financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification would be advantageous. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team. Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to justify decisions. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
